Mike Lesesne 3 месяца назад Note: Don't tape the side you aren't painting. You'll have a hard line. Some fall over from the paint is okay. You can always buff out imperfections later. 👌🚗👍

kevin Год назад Obviously the new paint inst going to match the paint that has been on your car for years...the only part where he screwed up was he masked while putting on the base coat and didn't blend anything.
CHATH K Год назад Yes i think he should apply only one coat in final

ALEXANDERCRETA1 8 месяцев назад Two mistakes paper tape must fold in half that makes the line smoother, live the clear 2-3 days to cure after sanding with 2000 wet paper and buffing with polish compound

Ciaran Rooney 6 месяцев назад @amin.ckone shut up you twat he never claimed it was a perfect finish! It's much better than it was and saved 4-500 quid getting a professional to do it.
  • Richard Dodd
Richard Dodd 3 месяца назад @Ciaran Rooney exactly! Which is more than the car is worth. I've always bought another used bumper because it's easier, the paint matches and im not skilled enough. I'd end up with it looking worse and spent £100 on paint & supplies. I think it looks good considering its silver.
  • windowseat
windowseat 2 месяца назад Of all the colours to try and match (and work with), silver is probably the hardest. A professional body shop will normally 'blend' into the next panel, but even then, with silver there is normally a dark shadow effect where new meets old if you look from a distance. Darker colours are much easier to work with.
  • A KP
A KP 1 месяц назад this is why you find the paint code to your car and order it online. The local advanced auto parts isn't going to have your paint code.
  • Richard Dodd
Richard Dodd 1 месяц назад @A KP Yeah great on a new car but on a old car......not a chance. An old car won't even be the same colour as it was when it left the factory, the local depot will usually have to mix in colours to help match it and that depends how good they are, it's hard to tell what colours to add from a colour swatch. That's why they blend it in, then it costs more because they are painting dam near half the car. My car has a paint code 354 and of that code there is 7 different varieties, what do you do then? buy them all and try each one??
  • TheTootoo222
TheTootoo222 1 месяц назад You could get the exactly the same color if you get the code from the engine bay and go to the body shop have them make the same exact paint done for you with oem code

  • Tim
Tim Год назад good tip: in stead of using tape on the left on the bumper what will leave a line you want to use a A4 paper and fold it in half so you have the round side of the paper facing the part you want to paint. in that way you wont have a line but you have a smooth trasition.

Calvin Laudrensio 11 месяцев назад Because you probably don't want to end up having a bumper with a different color from the body like this. For me personally it's an eyesore, I rather keep the scratches.
  • trentriver
trentriver 10 месяцев назад Just paint the entire bumper of it bothers you.
  • Max Manx
Max Manx 10 месяцев назад Good body shops can blend so well that we can't tell the difference. It is unnecessary to paint the entire car unless the entire car is scratched. Go to a real body shop & make sure it isn't a place designed to paint entire cars.
  • Helen25243
    Helen25243 6 месяцев назад Victor Cordero £££££££s
  • Hans Moffett
Hans Moffett 6 месяцев назад Victor Cordero unfortunately there are lots of 2nd rate body shops that would try to get you to paint the entire car. Where I live a decent paint job by a mid range shop is about 2-3 thousand, depending on what you want. However, any painter worth his salt can blend the bumper into the fender so there's not any color match issues, for considerably less. For example, I have a paint and body shop that caters to the car lots, and I can usually do the same job on the video for $150-200.
  • Emperors Ordeal
Emperors Ordeal 5 месяцев назад There are expert spray painters and they don't need to paint everything. What they do is blend it to the rest of the car. I knew a guy like that. He was an excellent paint sprayer. his hand movement and blending were impeccable
  • Jack Carey
Jack Carey 4 месяца назад It won't be a whole respray lol but normally they have a blend panel to help lose the different colours to the eye.. blend panel blends the colour lol, so you might have one panel of damage put can take 2 panels or so to lose the colour, but bumpers never normally get a blend as plastic and metal never match up perfect Anyway

God forbid the people who make these damn vids would watch a Pro video first...Who knows they would probably just use other tools and materials incorrectly... You think he knows how to use a wheel and cutting cream? Guess you don't even need more than 5 mins for a Spray can paint to dry before a clear coat either... this is a mess....This paint will look like total sh*t in a few months... Why those paint tape line look great!!! hahaha
